First Year Essay Clinic
We invite all first year students to attend. The Executive Team and the PSA Mentors will be there to help edit your essay outlines and look over rough drafts. The evening will begin at with a brief presentation on expectations, and the rest of the night will be drop in. If you are an upper year student interested in helping out, please email us at email@example.com ! Hope to see you there!
This happens twice a year, once during each semester before the PoliSci 1020 essays are due.
Women in House
The PSA and Women in House are proud to be organizing a three day trip to Ottawa for students to have the opportunity to shadow one of many prolific female MP’s as they spend their day in the House of Commons and attend committee meetings. This is an exceptionally unique experience that allows Political Science students to get hands on experience with federal politics.

Political Science Intent to Register
Are you in first year and not sure which module of Political Science is right for you? Are you confused by Intent to Register? We’ve organized a Political Science information session!
Political Science, International Relations, American Studies, the joint Ivey program, Transitional Justice & Post-Conflict Reconstruction, & the Economics/Political Science/Philosophy modules will all have students present to answer questions and provide information.
Wine & Cheese Prof-Student Social
Come out to the annual PSA Wine and Cheese! A night of socializing with your professors and peers.
Appetizers and refreshments will be served, including an assortment of fine wine and cheeses. The event is open to all undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty in the Department of Political Science. The event is all ages, but please remember to bring valid 19+ identification if you are planning on drinking. Entry includes one drink ticket and complimentary appetizers.

Our Graduate School Info Seminar is being facilitated by Professor Adam Harmes, current Graduate Chair for the Department of Political Science, as well as graduate students who will be available to answer any questions you have. The Seminar will include information about the Masters in Political Science and Local Government. Whether you’re a fourth year looking for information or a first year curious about options, come out to get informed about your opportunities at Western!

Catalytic Dinner at the Wave
On Friday, November 30th, come out to a dinner and panel discussion that brings together successful women in politics and YOU. The guest list includes: the Minister of Health, the former Mayor of London, the former Director of the Lawrence Institute for Policy and Management, other MP’s and many more local politicians. You will also have the chance to meet distinguished professors from the Faculty of Law and the Departments of Women’s Studies & Feminist Research and Political Science.
This unique opportunity is open to all female Western students interested in politics.

Speaker Event: Eric Sayers
Join us in listening to Eric Sayers, Defense Policy Advisor to U.S. Congressman J. Randy Forbes and Panelist at Western’s Forum on the U.S. Presidential Election. Mr Sayers, a Western Political Science grad, is speaking to the PSA about the presidential election and answering questions.
PSA Annual General Meeting
Learn more about the events we have planned, the opportunities to get involved, and the general political community at Western. The meeting will include presentations from the PSA Executive, Women in House, the Social Contract: the Department of Political Science’s Undergraduate Journal, and a presentation from a Western Political Science professor. Free food will be provided!
